I just realized that it's been awhile since I posted my weight progress.
Man...seems to be happening so slowly. And remember my friend that gave me a challenge to lose 60 pounds before he lost 30? I haven't heard anything more from him since then...I'm assuming he has bowed out of that race.
Anyway, I pulled up my spreadsheet and looked at the numbers.
Starting weight (January 5th): 458 lbs
Weight when having surgery (April 7th): approximately 376 lbs
Current weight (June 9th): 328.5 lbs
Meaning:
Weight loss since surgery: 47.5 lbs
Weight loss since starting to diet: 129.5 lbs
Still...seems to be happening so slowly! I wonder if this is considered "normal"?

I've lost 93 pounds since I started this crazy thing, and I will be one year out by the end of July!

I think that's great. Keep doing what you can, and look at the progress rather than the plateaus.
As for a bike, I still have mine in the garage. It's an Upland mountain hybrid, and it works. Basic, but I am still too feeble to ride it yet. I will by the end of the summer.
I would stay away from the expensive bike unless you plan to ride the tires off it.
Good luck and keep writing stories!
I'd love to wear the tires off it...the area here is just very hilly, trails for bikes are sparse and quite frankly there's a reason car drivers have signs up that remind them to "share the road" with bikes. Ride on roads, sooner or later you're going to get a love tap from a bumper. You'd better just hope that love tap isn't coming at you at 50 MPH...
ReplyDeleteAgain, I'd *love* to ride. I'm just too weak a rider for the hills and afraid of the drivers not paying attention to driving.
